PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digging device with a rotary blade for securing operator safety without damaging a work area at the time of hole digging work using the device. SOLUTION: This digging device 20 having the rotary digging blade 18 rotating in vertical axis rotation is set on a running car body 1 such as a tractor and set with a digging cover 21 covering the almost vertical total length over. The digging cover 21 is stretchable in the vertical direction. When the digging device 20 intrudes into the ground to advance hole digging and an exposed part from the ground surface becomes short, the digging device 20 shortens and covers the periphery of a digging part of the digging device 20.
