The pulsed air charging system for an internal combustion motor, where combustion air is drawn in through an air intake (10), has a flap (20) in a housing (14) at the intake which is opened and closed against a valve seat (22). The swing flap has cone shape sealing surfaces (24), which work together with complementary sealing surfaces at the valve seat. The flap is operated by a lever (18) to swing on an axis (16). The flap is of a thin metal or plastics.
