FIELD: entertainment program television systems designed for transmitting commercials to users. ^ SUBSTANCE: transmission of commercials to users involves follow-up, monitoring, and control of television program transmission network from operating center or from head cable network center. Multichannel architecture for providing television terminals connected to operating center or to head cable network center with commercials has, in particular, data receiving equipment, database, processing equipment, and software. Program channels transmit television programs and during their intervals they transmit commercial programs and alternative commercials meant for definite audience. Operating center generates assignment plan of audience television terminal groups basing on their characteristics (ascendancy, profit level), then change-over plan is generated which includes instructions for television terminals concerning change-over to one of alternative transmission channels or instruction to keep tuned to program channel. Television terminals record information about channels viewed during program intervals and transfer this information in the form of report to operating center. ^ EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of commercial transmission to desired audience. ^ 30 cl, 44 dwg, 12 tbl |
