1,026,445. Incandescent electric lamps. PATENT - TREUHAND - GESELLSCHAFT FUR ELEKTRISCHE GLUHLAMPEN m.b.H. Dec. 23, 1963 [Jan. 3, 1963], No. 50676/63. Heading H1F. A low voltage gas-filled lamp having an envelope of high melting point material such as quartz glass or hardened glass and an addtion of iodine to the filling, has the filament in the form of a flattened coil extending between and carried only by two lead-in wires and the envelope flattened on at least one side parallel to the wide side of the coil. Fig. 1 shows a spherical envelope 1 with the face 2 opposite the filament 3 flattened. The filament is carried by lead-in wires 4 of tungsten welded to molybdenum foils 5, in turn welded to current supply wires 6. In other forms, the lamp may have a spherical cylindrical envelope flattened on opposite sides and closed by two pinches at the ends. Instead of flattening, a cylindrical envelope may be given an oval cross-section. |
