PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst composition for polymerizing a cationically polymerizable compound, which keeps storage stability of a cationic polymerization initiator without lowering curability of a cationically polymerizable compound and properties of a cured material and a curable resin composition containing the same. SOLUTION: The catalyst composition for polymerizing a cationically polymerizable compound comprises a thermo-cationic polymerization initiator or a photo-cationic polymerization initiator and a sulfide compound containing one or more thioether bonds. The sulfide compound has≥100°C boiling point and is preferably an aliphatic sulfide compound represented by general formula (I) [R<SB>1</SB>is an alkyl group, a hydroxy group, an alkoxy group, a halogen atom or an alkanoyl group; R<SB>2</SB>is an alkyl group which may contain a hydroxy group, an alkoxy group, a halogen atom, an alkanoyl group, an alkyloxycarbonyl group, an alkanoyloxy group, a phenyl group or a naphthyl group on a carbon atom on and after aβcarbon atom], etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
