PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flow switch which is superior in responsiveness to the flow of a fluid, and has little pressure loss even when a flow rate is increased. SOLUTION: In a housing 2, a fluid passage 3 having a diameter enlarged in the upper part is formed vertically, and in the fluid passage 3, a ball float 4 having an outer diameter approximately equal to the inner diameter of the fluid passage not enlarged in diameter is stored so as to be vertically movable in a range from the enlarged part in diameter to the non-enlarged part. In a state that the fluid does not flow in, the fluid passage 3 is blocked by the ball float 4, and in a state that the fluid flows in, the ball float 4 is moved to the enlarged part in diameter by a fluid differential force, and releases the blocked state. Simultaneously, an optical sensor 5 composed of a light-emitting element 5a and a light-receiving element 5b is arranged at a position crossing the fluid passage 3, and the signal of the optical sensor 5 is transmitted to a photoelectric switch, thereby detecting the inflow of the fluid and actuating the flow switch.
