PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially oriented polyester film which shows a high heat resistance in spite of being an aliphatic polyester and generates little static electricity. SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented polyester film is composed of a polyester essentially comprising a unit derived from 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid and a unit derived from 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol as repeating units and having a melting point of≥200°C. The film has a coating layer on at least one side, wherein the coating layer has a surface resistivity of≤1×10<SP>13</SP>Ω.
