PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and inexpensive engine generator capable of preventing excess ouput of an engine without detecting operation of a breaker and output current, preventing the engine from being damaged, and preventing supply of electric power from being shut off suddenly. SOLUTION: Engine output OP, to explain more concretely, an output generation rate OPrate is inferred (S106) based on target number of revolutions NED of the engine and degree of opening of throttleθTH, and it is determined that excessive output of the engine occurs if the inferred output generation rate OPrate exceeds a predetermined value (80%) for predetermined third time t3.
