PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing device, in which a retrieval, etc., of contents data by index data before editing are attained. SOLUTION: A plurality of pieces of contents data and the index data of the contents data are homologized each other and stored in a storage means, and the specified contents data among a plurality of stored contents data can be reproduced by a reproducing means. When a search word for specifying the contents data to be reproduced is inputted, the adaptable information is retrieved from among the index data stored in a storage means by a control means in accordance with the inputted search word, and the contents data corresponding to the adapted index data are reproduced by the reproducing means.
