<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a driver from receiving unpleasant feeling due to brake, and to provide smooth brake feeling. <P>SOLUTION: The brake control device is constituted so that target deceleration 1 is set according to an amount of operation of a brake pedal 1 and target deceleration 2 is calculated based on the target deceleration 1. At this time, limit values of deceleration increasing and decreasing gradients to the target deceleration 1 are set based on the target deceleration 1, and the target deceleration 2 is obtained by correcting the target deceleration 1 based on the set deceleration increasing and decreasing gradients. Thereby, since the deceleration increasing and decreasing gradients are small at the time of slow brake, change of sudden braking force is reduced, and smooth drive and brake can be performed.
