PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polytrimethylene terephthalate-based polyester false twisted yarn having highly modified fiber cross section and providing a woven or knitted product having excellent water-absorbing/quick-drying properties, and simultaneously exhibiting elastic feeling and stretchability. SOLUTION: The false twisted yarn with the special cross section, composed of the polytrimethylene terephthalate-based polyester fiber is composed of the fiber having the cross section with a flat shape having two or more concave parts on one side in the major axis direction. The percentage crimp of the false twisted yarn is 15-25%, and the elastic recovery from 10% elongation is≥70%. The method for producing the false twisted yarn is also provided.
