The invention relates to a deflector element for a safety belt in a motor vehicle, said element consisting of a single-component metallic body with a fixing eyelet and a belt guiding slit provided with a rounded running surface, in addition to a plastic lining part held on the metallic body, and a driving body defining the width of the gap for passing the belt strip through the belt guiding slit. The inventive deflector element is characterised in that the lining part (19) is embodied as a single-component body with edge regions (25) that at least partially enclose the metallic body (10), and can be fixed to said metallic body (10) by a prestress exerted on the metallic body (10) by the edge regions (25).
