PURPOSE: An apparatus for correcting a defect pixel of an image sensor and a method for the same are provided to perform simultaneously detection and correction of the defect pixel, thereby reducing the cost and enhancing the efficiency in production. CONSTITUTION: A pixel register member(50) includes plural pixel registers connected in series with each other and stores temporarily the pixel values outputted sequentially from an image sensor. A defect discriminating member(60) multiplies a predetermined weighted value by the pixel of N-2 and the pixel of N+2 among the pixel values stored to the pixel register member, compares the multiplication result with the pixel of N and then discriminates the defect of the pixel of N. When the pixel of N is discriminated by the defect discriminating member as a defect pixel, a defect correction member(70) corrects the pixel of N by using the pixels having the same colors temporarily stored to the pixel register. |
