PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic relay 1 which can be properly used in accordance with use environments and various uses. SOLUTION: A contact chamber 26 to dispose a pair of stationary contacts 21, 22 and a movable contact 23 is formed in a contact cover 20, and a communicating hole 27 making the contact chamber 26 communicate with the exterior of the contact cover 20 is formed at an almost center part of a contact receiving part 20b to receive the movable contact 23. A check valve 29 capable of ventilation from the contact chamber 26 to the exterior of the contact cover 20 and blocking the ventilation from the exterior of the contact cover 20 to the contact chamber 26 is mounted to the communicating hole 27. Thereby, since an arc gas generated when a current carried is interrupted is exhausted to the exterior of the contact chamber 26 from the check valve 29, oxidation of the contact is suppressed, and current capacity resistance and a contact life can be prevented from being lowered.
