The method uses a generic search service which, instead or finding a platform specific application, finds, activates and processes a result for delivery to an output application. At the start of such a search process, the search service contains only special base commands, which are used via an integrating interface with which the search service detects and decides which platforms are suitable for delivering a desired result. An independent claim is included for a communications terminal in which the operating method may be applied.
