<p>The present invention provides methods for modulating ovarian follicular initiation, modulating fertility, treating infertility, and treating hormone-related diseases or disorders comprising modulating the expression or activity of FOXO3a. The present invention also provides an animal, e.g., transgenic mouse, in which the FOXO3a gene is misexpressed. Methods for identifying contraceptive agents are also described. Also described are methods for diagnosing premature ovarian failure (POF).</p> |
