The method involves charging the capacitance (CM) over a first charging period, determining the charge of the capacitance from a first measurement value, charging the capacitance over a second, different charging period, determining the charge as a second measurement value and comparing the first and second measurement values to determine a measurement condition varying the base state of the capacitance : An independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a circuit arrangement for implementing the inventive method.
