The method involves acquiring echo signals from a concerned zone, and analyzing the signals to form a data stream (276) corresponding to a received beam. The data stream is decimated, by passing two consecutive data samples and removing two other data samples from the stream, to form a decimated data stream (286). The signals are analyzed to form a data stream (278), and the two streams are multiplexed with each other. An independent claim is also included for an ultrasound system.
