There is provided a foldable product, such as a map, which is formed from a sheet (10) of material such as stiff paper. The sheet (10) has predetemlined folded and unfolded configurations by virtue of a predetermined pattern of fold lines (12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 23, 24). The fold lines are provided partly by creases and partly by lines of perforations depending on the stress in a particular area during folding and unfolding.
