PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method for an image forming material capable of stable image output in an early stage after start and capable of substantially shortening the rise time of a heat developing machine. SOLUTION: In the image forming method using a heat developable photosensitive material containing a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder on at least one surface of a support, an image is output within 15 min after starting a heat developing machine, using the heat developable photosensitive material in which the reducing agent is at least one selected from the group of compounds represented by formula 1.
