PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability by avoiding and suppressing degradation of an image quality, decrease of a throughput, shortening of a recording head life and the like which are caused by an increase of a discharge duty to specific nozzles while blanking caused by ink non discharge is avoided. SOLUTION: Poor discharge information of a discharging part of the recording head is acquired. Dot formation of a pixel value corresponding to a specific region which is poor in the discharge is controlled based on the acquired poor discharge information. The pixel value is quantized to N (N is an integer not smaller than 2) value. Dots are formed by a plurality of discharging parts based on the quantized value. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
