<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food or drink containing catechin in high concentration and excellent in succulent and flavor. <P>SOLUTION: The catechin containing food or drink contains ≥70 wt.% of ester type catechins of (-)EGCg, (-)ECg, (-)GCg and (-)Cg, in the total catechin content, and the sum of the (-)GCg and (-)Cg is ≥40 wt.% in the ester type catechins, the content of (-)ECg is ≤20 wt.% in the ester type catechins and the content of (-)GCg is larger than that of (-)ECg. The catechin food or drink satisfying the requirement has an excellent serum cholesterol cut-down efficacy of catechin and excellent in succulent and flavor, and used for health drink or a diet drink which is easy to ingest. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
