PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a metallic mold without using a cutting edge upper surface model for which a cutting edge angle and a clearance angle are defined. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the metallic mold for trim process includes the (S1)-(S6) steps as mentioned below. The cutting edge angle and the clearance angle in an upper mold are inputted (S1). The cutting edge increasing amount at each position from the cutting starting position of the edge surface formed on the upper surface toward the longitudinal direction of the edge surface and the clearance increasing amount at each position toward the thickness direction of the edge surface, are calculated based on this cutting edge angle and the clearance angle (S2). A radius of the edge tip in a tool formed as the edge surface in the upper mold is inputted (S3). The cutting edge increasing amount and the clearance increasing amount at each position are added to the radius of the edge tip in the tool at each position in the longitudinal direction of the edge surface (S4). The cutting course of the tool is formed based on the radius center of the tool at each position from the cutting start position of the edge surface toward the longitudinal direction and the thickness direction (S5), and the tool is moved based on this cutting course (S6).
