PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the influence of performance deterioration with time in the circuit of a receiver and a chaos signal processing section, or momentary variations in a reception signal level affects distance measurement precision in a conventional radar system. SOLUTION: The radar system has a means for adding an addition curve, where a reception signal is processed, with the rising edge of a transmission signal as a trigger, using the addition curve, where the reception signal is processed, with the trailing edge of the transmission signal as a trigger, and calculating the distance to a target by obtaining the intersection of the two addition curves, thus precisely calculating distance regardless of performance deterioration of the circuit itself and momentary variations in the reception signal level.
