PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting structure for a valve spring retainer for easily mounting or removing the valve spring retainer without using spacial tools for removal. SOLUTION: In the mounting structure of the valve spring retainer for detachably mounting the valve spring retainer to the tip section of a valve stem for composing a valve, an engagement member is mounted to the tip section of the valve stem while orthogonally crossing the axial direction, an insertion hole for inserting the engagement member is provided at the center section of the valve spring retainer, and a locking groove that orthogonally crosses the insertion hole and is engaged to the engagement member is formed on the upper surface.
