<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freezing and preserving method by which a cell such as an anchorage-dependent adherent cell can be readily frozen without causing qualitative change of the cell by enzyme treatment or the like when freezing the cell, and the frozen cell can rapidly be recovered by thawing; and to provide a method for culturing the cell. <P>SOLUTION: The method for freezing the cell involves freezing the cell in a culture container in a cultured state. The amount of a freezing and preserving liquid is 5-20 vol.% of the amount of a culture liquid used in the culture, and, preferably, the freezing and preserving liquid contains 5-20 vol.% dimethyl sulfoxide. The method for culturing the cell comprises freezing the cell in the culture container in the cultured state by using the freezing and preserving liquid, thawing the frozen product and culturing the thawed product by adding the culture liquid. The freezing and preserving liquid contains the 5-20 vol.% dimethyl sulfoxide, and the amount of the freezing and preserving liquid is 5-20 vol.% of the culture liquid used in the culture after the thawing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
