APPARATUS FOR FORMING IMAGE AND LAMINATE LAYER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect an image formed by thermal transfer by forming a laminate layer 9 of a transparent resin layer 18 larger than a maximum image area 6 on the upper surface of the image formed by thermal transfer. SOLUTION: Laminate heads 16 being used only during laminate processing are formed on both sides of an image forming print head 15 formed in a thermal head 11. A laminate ribbon 17 on which a thermally fusible transparent resin layer 18 is formed is then applied tightly onto a print sheet 2 on which an image is formed by means of the print head 15. Resin layer of the laminate ribbon 17 is thermally transferred to the surface of the print sheet 2 by means of the print head 15 and the laminate head 16 thus forming the laminate layer 9 of transparent resin overlapping in the width direction of the maximum print area 6 being formed by the print head 15.
