PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front body structure of an automobile free of the risk that its side member is folded even if a low-speed impact load is input to any bumper stay. SOLUTION: The front body structure of the automobile is configured so that a front bumper 11 is attached to side members 10, 10 of the automobile body through bumper stays 17, 17 installed on the side and brittle parts (side member 15 and beads 13) whereby the members are easily broken when an impact load from the front member 11 is input to any side member 10 are provided in the neighborhood of the stay mounting parts of the side members 10, 10. The strength of the bumper stays 17 is made smaller than that of the rear side member 16 positioned to the back from the brittle parts (the side member 15 and beads 13) of the side members 10, while the mounting position to the side members of each bumper stay 17 is located in the rear side member 16 to the back from the brittle parts (the side member 15 and beads 13).
