The invention relates to a substrate for a MALDI measuring system which is optically transparent when exposed to at least one induction wavelength. Said substrate sequentially facilitates one or more optical and one or more mass-spectrometric measurements. The invention further relates to corresponding coupled optical and mass-spectrometric detection methods and to the use thereof. The substrate for a MALDI measuring system which is optically transparent when exposed to at least one induction wavelength is especially characterized in that the material of said support is a metal oxide or a mixture of metal oxides. The invention further relates to mass-spectrometric and coupled detection methods carried out with said substrate and to the use thereof.
