1,027,913. Seat adjustments. H. R. TURNER (WILLENHALL) Ltd. March 11, 1964 [Nov. 6, 1963], No. 43752/63. Heading A4J. A vehicle seat has a backrest hinged at 24 for angular adjustment relative to a seat proper. Locking plates 25, 26 on both sides of the seat are brought into and out of locking engagement with rack 23 by a single operating handle 37. A cam plate 30 on the left hand side of the seat is provided with an elongated slot 34 through which the operating rod extends. The cam plate 30 on the right hand side of the seat has a circular hole in which the end of the operating rod 3, 5 Fig, 3 (not shown) is welded. The clearance in the slot 34 in one cam plate permits the two sets of locking members to re-engage independently after the angle of inclination of the seat has been varied. |
