<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten user's waiting time at the time of starting electronic equipment and an image forming device the first thing in the morning by automatically shifting the statuses of the electronic equipment and the image forming device from a normal standby mode, etc., to an energy saving mode to improve the operabilities of the electronic equipment and the image forming device when lighting of an installation location of an office, etc., is turned off at night and by automatically and quickly returning the statuses of the electronic equipment and the image forming device from the energy saving mode to the normal standby mode when the installation location becomes bright next morning. <P>SOLUTION: When an illumination sensor detects that it becomes dark around to be night (N of step S1), a shift is made to the energy saving mode (step S9), and when it becomes bright around next morning, the normal standby mode is returned (step S13). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
