PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mashing device which can prevent the retention of a mashed substance in the vicinity of the tip of a pestle by simultaneously applying revolution and rotation to the pestle by a pestle rotating driver, does not need a driver such as a pestle rotating motor, and can contribute to energy saving. SOLUTION: The rotation of a motor output shaft 41 is transmitted to a planetary gear mechanism 60, and rotary dynamic power is taken out from a planet output shaft 64. With the rotation of the shaft 64, the pestle 7 held along a third axis 03 is revolved around the motor output shaft 41 (first axis 01) and rotated around the planet output shaft 64 (second axis 02). Revolution and rotation are applied simultaneously to the pestle 7 by the planetary gear mechanism 60 (rotation transmission part 6). Since agitation by the pestle 7 is done actively, the retention of the mashed substance in the vicinity of the tip part (the bottom of a mortar M) of the pestle 7 is prevented so that the mashing and agitation of the substance is finished in a relatively short time.
