The method involves acquiring and processing data from immediately adjacent network elements for the networking of each element, whereby each element produces a data record of possible connection partners to which a connection can be made. Immediately adjacent elements are included in the data record that fulfill defined optimality conditions in respect of possible connection and networking only takes place with elements included in the record.
