PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum interrupter using a vacuum valve superior in current interrupting characteristics by stabilizing arc restriking characteristics of a contact point alloy. SOLUTION: This contact of the vacuum interrupter is composed of a Cu-Cr contact alloy containing an arc-proof component consisting of Cr having an average particle diameter of 0.1 to 150μm, and a conductive component consisting of Cu by 10 to 85 wt%. A1 in the contact alloy is constituted of an acid/alkaline soluble A1 component soluble in at least either an acid or alkaline solution and an acid/alkaline insoluble A1 component soluble in neither acid nor alkaline solution. The acid/alkaline soluble A1 component in the contact point alloy is to be 10 to 250 ppm, and the acid/alkaline insoluble A1 component is to be 10 to 2,000 ppm.
