<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device and a display capable of effectively controlling a plurality of light sources emitting light of different wave lengths. <P>SOLUTION: This light source device 100 has LED chips 106 of a plurality of colors and an optical sensor 201 detecting the light from a color mixing part 104. A light source control part 202 controls luminescence intensity of each LED chip by feedback control according to a detected value by the optical sensor. The light source device has a temperature control part 207 controlling the temperature of the light source 106.The temperature control part is a feedback control system. By maintaining the temperature of the light source 106 at a specified value, changes in spectrum shapes of the LED chips due to a temperature change can be restrained.
