PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten and standardize a length of a glow plug to use for many kinds of engines in common. SOLUTION: In a mounting structure, the glow plug provided with an externally threaded portion 105 for mounting in a glow plug-mounting hole 11 in an engine head, a hexagonal portion 107 for screwing, and an external connection terminal from a heat-generating portion at a front end toward a rear in the axial direction is mounted in an internally threaded portion 15 in the mounting hole 11. The external connection terminal is a pin terminal 109 that extends rearward in the axial direction, and the rear end of the pin terminal 109 is positioned within the hole 11. Thus the connection of wiring has no problems by using a wiring cord with a socket terminal. The overall length of the glow plug can be set irrespective of a distance from a combustion chamber to an outer surface of the engine head, and can be standardized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
