PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flush bolt of which the extruding length of a cover for shutting the opening of the base is shorter than the movement distance of an operation section. SOLUTION: The flush bolt 4 of the lock is fitted to the operation section 3 moving along the opening 2 of the base 1 and the opening 2 is shut by a cover 5 moving together with the operation section 3. The cover 5 is made expansible/contractible by a first cover 10 connected to the operation section 3 and a second cover 20 relatively moving to the first cover 10. The second cover 20 is retained in the lower position where the opening 2 is covered and moved to the upper position by the first cover 10. Further, in the flush bolt, when moving the operation section 3 to the stroke end position, the first cover 10 and the second cover 20 contract, the length is made short and the extruded length from the base 1 is made little, when moving the operation section 3 in one direction from the stroke end position, the first cover 10 and the second cover 20 stretch longer, hence, the opening 2 can be covered.
