<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe assembly which is automatically operated by usual procedure in case of blood collection and is not accompanied by a complicated operation mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: A blood collection assembly includes a needle cannula and a hub installed to the needle cannula, a spring which can prejudice a turn shield, and a shield, which is installed to be able to turn by the hub and is removable between a retiring position and a shield position surrounding the end of the needle cannula around a rotary axis. A needle holder is joined to the first end of the hub, and can store a blood collection pipe such as a vacuum pipe through the opposite end. A holding member is installed to the turn shield, and it can be engaged and released from the hub to hold the turning shield at the retiring position opposite to the slant power of the spring. When the blood collection pipe is inserted into the needle holder, the holding member is released from the engagement with the hub, and so the turn shield is proceeded to the shield position by the slant power of the spring. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
