PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data broadcast receiver capable of selecting and acquiring local associated data with information in close relation to a geographical area desired by a viewer from among the received pieces of local associated data. SOLUTION: Area codes having a code system corresponding to the geographical areas to be minutely specified by districts, prefectures, cities, wards, towns, villages, elementary school areas, residents' associations, towns and house numbers are introduced and an area code indicating the geographical area desired by the viewer is stored in a storage part 110 as an initialization area code 112. In addition, the area code indicating the geographical area of the contents of the local associated data is incorporated in the local associated data. A control part 108 extracts the area code from the received local associated data and when the area code coincides with the initialization area code 112, displays the contents of the received local associated data by a display part 106.
