PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-based polymer isocyanate-based adhesive which contains no formalin, secures a pot life by controlling excessive reactivity between isocyanate and an aqueous emulsion, contains no aromatic vinyl monomer and especially has excellent heat resistance. SOLUTION: The latex for a water-resistant adhesive is a copolymer latex which is obtained by subjecting monomers consisting of 5-64.9 wt.% of an aliphatic conjugated diene, 35-94.9 wt.% of a (meth) acrylic acid alkyl ester, 0.1-3 wt.% of an ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid and 0-<59.9 wt.% of another copolymerizable vinyl-based monomer (except an aromatic vinyl) and has 80-250 nm number-average particle diameter and 30-98% gel content. The water-based polymer isocyanate-based water-resistant adhesive is obtained by mixing 100 parts. wt. of the latex (solid content) with 50-200 parts. wt. of a water-soluble polymer and 10-250 parts. wt. of an isocyanate-based compound.
