METHOD AND DEVICE FOR IPC BETWEEN CROSS-CONNECTION SWITCH AND INPUT BUFFER SWITCH OF CROSSBAR SWITCH SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method and a device for the IPC(InterProcess Communication) between a cross-connection switch and an input buffer switch of a crossbar switch system are provided to secure an IPC channel between a CPU of the input buffer switch and the cross-connection switch without an additional expense and the system complexity by assigning a spare bandwidth of an arbitration channel to the IPC channel. CONSTITUTION: An input buffer cell parser(320) extracts an output port from an IPC cell transmitted from the CPU(104) of the input buffer switch(100) to the CPU(153) of the cross-connection switch(150) and parses the IPC cell into pieces. An arbitration request cell transmitter(310) transmits an arbitration request cell adding the parsed IPC cell piece to the cross-connection switch. An arbitration result cell receiver(330) receives the arbitration result cell from the cross-connection switch. An input buffer cell assembler(340) assembles a complete cell by extracting the IPC cell piece between the CPU of the input buffer switch and the CPU of the cross-connection switch from the arbitration result cell.
