There is provided a mobile telephone capable of preventing read out of contents from a memory even after the information on the mobile telephone is deleted from an HLR and calling/ringing cannot be performed. The mobile telephone (100) has a second memory (80) in which the serial number and the telephone number of the mobile telephone are stored in advance. During authentication upon call setting and position registration, the serial number assigned to the mobile telephone and the telephone number of the mobile telephone are notified to a subscriber network having a database containing serial numbers and telephone numbers of the respective mobile telephones subscribed. When a response that the serial number and the telephone number of the mobile telephone are not stored in the database is received from the subscriber network, output of the personal information recorded in the first memory (70) out of the mobile telephone (100) is suppressed.
