PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with hoops that fasten the peripheral walls of a wooden pail and to make it possible to look nice and easy to wash so as to keep it clean. SOLUTION: The wooden pail comprises a cylindrical peripheral wall 2 formed of a plurality of wooden strips 1 longer than are wide, trenches 4 formed on respective connecting end surfaces 3 in the longitudinal direction of respective wooden strips while leaving the upper edges uncut, the peripheral wall 2 thereof being constituted by combining respective wooden strips 1 with respective trenches 4 being mated so as for both the trenches 4, 4 to be put in a row, with coupling members 5 being inserted into the trenches from the lower end side so as to link the wooden strips in a cylindrical form.
