<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly begin and advance a conference using electronic data. <P>SOLUTION: This electronic conference system is provided with an information reading and writing instrument 2 which performs reading and writing of information to at least one portable storage device 3, an electronic data distribution server 1 which is connected to the instrument 2 via network 5 and distributes electronic data, and an information processing instrument 4 which reads and writes information of the inserted portable storage device 3. The electronic data distribution server 1 has a transmitting means for transmitting registered electronic data to the information reading and writing instrument 2. The instrument 2 has a writing means which reproduces electronic data distributed from the server 1, and writes the data into at least one portable storage device 3.
