AIR CONDITIONER USING HYDROGEN-STORAGE ALLOYS

PURPOSE: An air conditioner using hydrogen-storage alloys is provided to generate additional cool air by heat-driving first and second auxiliary reactors by using waste heat radiated from a heat-generating reactor, thereby improving the cooling performance. CONSTITUTION: An indoor side exhaust passage is connected with a room. An outdoor side exhaust passage is connected with the outdoor. A pair of reactors(10,15) are filled with a hydrogen storage alloy inside. A plurality of ventilating fans(30,35) forcibly absorb the external air for forcibly sending the air into the room or to the outside through the indoor side exhaust passage and the outdoor side exhaust passage. A plurality of hydrogen passage pipes(20) are connected with the reactors, wherein hydrogen flows inside. A pumping unit is connected with the hydrogen passage pipes for generating sending power to forcibly send the hydrogen from one reactor to the other reactor. A passage control valve(50) is installed in each hydrogen passage pipe for controlling a sending direction of the hydrogen. A first auxiliary reactor(60) is filled with the hydrogen-storage alloy having high hydrogen absorbing ability, and is installed on one side of the outdoor side exhaust passage for receiving air of a high temperature sent from the heat generating reactor to the outside. A second auxiliary reactor(65) is installed in an exhaust passage communicated with the room, and is filled with another hydrogen-storage alloy having hydrogen absorbing ability lower than the hydrogen-storage alloy of the first auxiliary reactor. An auxiliary hydrogen passage pipe(70) connects the first auxiliary reactor with the second auxiliary reactor. A valve(75) is installed in the auxiliary hydrogen passage pipe. An auxiliary ventilating fan(80) is installed on one side of the second auxiliary reactor for sending air into the room through the second auxiliary reactor.
