An automated bobbin winder for man-made thread has a bobbin-changing unit, a contact drum, and a revolver with two rotating tension pins. The revolver shifts the pins alternately between stand-by presentation and operational presentation. After the thread is trapped, a mechanism prevents a substantial reduction in thread tension between the contact drum and empty bobbin. The mechanism produces a steam of blown air in the axial direction of the tension pins, and picks up a loose section of thread and maintains it in close contact with the bobbin. This process is triggered by a control unit during the bobbin change-over process, and traps the next loose thread in the receiving slit of the next bobbin.
|
