PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend a service life of a double action push switch and to reduce an area for mounting the double action push switch to a printed wiring board 10 by increasing the degrees of freedom of a first-step load characteristic and a second-step load characteristic. SOLUTION: A tact plate of this double action push switch is formed with first and second tact plates 6 and 7 disposed side-by-side in a tact plate housing recessed part 13. An operating part 82 is formed at a position satisfying P3≠P4, where P3 and P4 are the respective operating loads applied to the operating part 82 when a pressing point K1 (K2) for applying an operation load P1 (P2) acts as the fulcrum, and moments on key tops 8 are balanced. The forming position of the operating part 82 is shifted from a center vertical axis 85 (20) by, for instance, setting the load characteristics of the tact plates 6 and 7 equal to each other. Thus, the tact plate 6 is inverted by the first-step pressing force to the operating part 82 to execute first-step connection, and the tact plate 7 is inverted by the second-step pressing force to the operation part 82 to execute second-step connection.
