<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a current to make a battery lifetime longer in an automatic meter check system wherein automatic gas metering is performed by using a PHS. <P>SOLUTION: The automatic metering system comprises a high frequency signal transmission/reception means 2, π/4 QPSK modulation/demodulation means 3, a protocol controller 4, a clock generation means 6 for generating a clock signal (frequency:f1), and a clock switching means 9 for dividing the frequency of the clock signal generated by the clock generation means 6 to supply a clock signal (frequency:f2 f2<f1) to the protocol controller 4. The clock switching means 9 is controlled to switch the clock signal from the frequency f1 to the frequency f2 at the time of the end of prescribed communication processing, so that the current consumption can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
