<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in which when a printer is identified by a network identifier, the function setting for each printer stored in a host computer is not available due to the setting reorganization of the printer. <P>SOLUTION: A printer device stores the set of user ID and function setting and the designation frequency of the setting, and the printer device returns the function setting with high designation frequency among the stored function setting to a host computer in accordance with the user ID designated when the printer device is used, and the host computer instructs print processing by using the function setting as default. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
