The effect of foodstuffs and other exogenous substances on the activation of neutrophils and thrombocytes in blood is determined by the in vitro analysis of samples of blood into which extracts of foodstuffs have been introduced. This enables particular foodstuffs to be identified as having the potential to cause thromboses in any individual.
